#RotarySpotlight Meet Albert E. Richwine (Al) - born December 21st, 1921 in Boiling Springs, PA. He graduated from Susquehanna High School in 1939. During WWII he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps Finance Division assigned to the 5th Air Force in the South Pacific Theater. (with General MacArthur)…. Impressive! #truehero

...after returning from WWII, he went back to his previous position at the National Bank of Penbrook. Al married his wife of 65 years, Jane Yoder in June of 1947. She passed away in 2011. After getting married, he graduated from Elizabethtown College with a business degree in 1949 and then continued to work his entire career at the same bank: Penbrook National which eventually became Mellon bank. He retired in 1985 as vice president in charge of the International Department, which he formed, after 45 1/2 years of service. Al has been a very active member not only of our club, Rotary Club of Colonial Park, but a myriad of local non-profits which includes various committees in Lower Paxton Township; the Atlantic Northeast District of the Church of the Brethren; Elizabethtown College Board... just to name a few of his "favorites." Al enjoyed golfing very much and was very proud of the three "Holes in One" during his golfing days at local courses! Al was fortunate enough to travel through all 50 states and most of Europe. Al has 2 daughters: Kathy Getz (widow of the late Robert Getz, Jr.) and Cindi Frysinger (husband Carl) and one granddaughter: Sarah Thompson (husband Dave, daughter of Kathy). Even though Al is no longer to attend our meetings in person due to some medical issues, we all hold a special place in our hearts for him - especially when we "sing" at a club meeting. Al loved to enlist the members of the club in a good song! We miss you Al and know you are with us in spirit at each meeting! #valuedmember #honorablemember #longtimerotarian
